funerals, family nights and pot-luck dinners. Also, food is supplied and served for community projects such as lunches for the bloodmobile and for the annual church grounds clean-up.

As part of the program, the Guild engages in some money-raising projects such as selling vanilla, aprons, calendars, cookbooks, and serving lunches at auction sales. An annual “No-Bake Sale” is one of the Guild’s unique projects.

Some of the recent church projects receiving financial assistance from the Guild are: new furnace, paneling and carpeting for sanctuary and stairs, remodeling and new equipment for kitchen, new bathroom and water system, new organ and piano, carpeting for basement, blacktopping of road and parking area, curtains for basement and a sewage disposal system.

An annual contribution is made to the cancer and heart funds, and to the Sunburst and Emmaus homes. This year a contribution was made to assist a missionary couple returning to Okinawa.

Being a Guild member is a very rewarding experience. The Bible study materials in use are from the Lutheran Women’s periodical “Scope.” The group appreciates the Bible study and the Christian fellowship experienced at each meeting.

CHURCH MEMBERS

The Council accepted the responsibility for administration of the Fred Trachsel Scholarship fund in 1971. They appointed a committee to take care of the project. The original principle was eight hundred dollars and has since been increased to (nine?) hundred by additional deposits. It was decided to give on(?) ? Interest each year to the most eligible applicant. By-laws were set up according to the wishes of his widow and family. “Fritz” (?) wonderful friend to all the children he knew, and this is a most (?)
