Neillsville ICAA Thrift store now open

After much anticipation, Indianhead Community Action Agency’s (ICAA) Clark Bounty Connections Thrift Store and Food Pantry officially opened in Neillsville Wednesday, Dec. 1.

The new store is located at 538 Hewett Street in a historic bank building. The ICAA Connections Thrift Store invites everyone to join them in this exciting endeavor by welcoming them to the community during its Grand Opening Celebration, to be held Friday, Jan. 7, and Saturday, Jan. 8.

The Thrift Store is open to the public, offering a wide range of gently used items, including clothing, household items, linens, books and hardware. Store proceeds are used to cover expenses and fund the food pantry.

Through the thrift store services are provided to all Clark County residents who are income-eligible. Services include the Food Assistance Program, Emergency Food Pantry, Rental Assistance Program, Home Weatherization, Transitional Jobs, Skills Enhancement Program, Development Program, Ministry Health Financial Assistance Program and information about other resources and referrals.

ICAA Connections is pleased to be in the Neillsville community, but the move came after a difficult decision to leave its previous Owen location.  ICAA created a connection with the Christian Missionary Alliance in Withee to provide the food pantry at that location each month.

To contact the Withee food pantry, call 715-229-4609.

ICAA Connections loves to connect with the community, as this is a great community project.  People are needed to donate good, quality, clean items.  It is currently in need of women’s plus size clothes, men’s clothes, kids’ toys, cleaning supplies, bedding, shoes, grocery bags and shampoo/conditioners.

People are needed to volunteer at the store; shoppers are needed, as well.  ICAA welcomes community support and encourages its involvement in this project.

Store hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p .m.; and the first Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (with the exception of New Years Day).

Donations can be taken during store hours. To contact the store and food pantry, call 715-819-1067 or e-mail Clark County Store Manager and Community Services Specialist Dianna Ruiz at ccicaa@indianheadcaa.org.

ICAA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to serving residents in Burnett, Washburn, Sawyer, Rusk, Taylor and Clark Counties of northwest Wisconsin.

ICAA is “Opening doors, creating opportunities.”
