Patterson honored at Highground ceremony

A special Legacy Stone Placement Ceremony was held to honor SFC David Patterson at The Highground Saturday, May 7.

Patterson?s fellow co-workers at Fort McCoy surprised him with a Legacy Stone presentation at The Highground. Patterson already completed tours in Desert Storm and Iraq and will soon be deployed to Afghanistan.  Patterson?s co-workers spoke highly of him during The Highground?s Talking Circle.

One of Patterson?s friends quoted, ?There is no greater love than to lay down one?s life for one?s friends. John 15:13.?

Patterson was touched (and surprised) by this honor.  The placement was a send-off he will never forget; he expressed words of gratitude many times.

Everyone at The Highground and Fort McCoy wished Patterson a safe return and recognized him for his service.

The next Highground Legacy Placement Ceremony will be held Saturday, May 14, during the Helicopter Expo.

All events and ceremonies are open to the public.  Stone placement ceremonies are scheduled each month through October.

Call The Highground at 715-743-4224 for more information or visit website www.thehighground.org.
