Ride to Remember comes to The Highground

One hundred seventy-five motorcycles stormed The Highground Plaza parking lot for the 11th annual Ride to Remember Motorcycle Rally.  (Contributed photo)

Motorcycles, food, music and veterans were on The Highground at Friday night’s opening ceremony for the Ride to Remember Motorcycle Rally. Riders and visitors enjoyed sandwiches and ice cream treats prepared by Hardee’s.  After a short ceremony, which included an inspirational speech by Katherine Schneider, PHD, and remembering Wisconsin KIA’s from Iraq and Afghanistan, everyone enjoyed entertainment by country music singers Paige & Kim.

One hundred seventy-five motorcycles registered for the guided tours throughout the day.  The motorcycle procession to The Highground was an awesome experience.  Flags flown by The American Legion Riders, Neillsville American Legion Post 73, Greenwood American Legion Post 238, Boyd American legion Post 326 and the Neillsville Boy Scouts lined the road into The Highground Plaza parking lot. Riders rode in to the tolling of the replica Liberty Bell and cheers by visitors.  Following a short ceremony, a picnic lunch was enjoyed by everyone.

The Highground’s Ride to Remember Motorcycle Rally would like to recognize WCCN for the use of its parking lot for this annual event.  The Highground would also like to recognize all of the sponsors for their continuing support.
