Neillsville Kiwanis Club observes 85th Birthday

 

The Neillsville Kiwanis Club, the oldest service club in the city, observed its 85th birthday on Monday evening, June 19th with a steak feed at Schuster Park.

 

Former members, division and district officers joined the club in the celebration.

 

Current club officers are Davis Arndt, President; Kenneth Van Dam, Vice-president; Kevin Hanke, Secretary-Treasurer; Larry Osegard is Immediate Past-President.  Board members include Stan Pekol, Dan Herbrand and Don Quicker.

 

The following members have received the Kiwanis Legion of Honor award: Frederick Kieser, 35 years; Vern Mayer, 35 years; Robert Solberg, 35 years; Don Quicker, 30 years; Herman Seebandt, 25 years; Ken Van Dam, 25 years and Larry Osegard, 20 years.

 

Chief club projects include the Annual College Scholarship; parenting The First Year; Special Olympics; Camp Wabeek (Easter Seals Camp); The Highground and miscellaneous individual small projects.

 

Kieser honored for Kiwanis service

 

Fritz Kieser was honored during Monday evening?s Neillsville Kiwanis Club?s 85th Anniversary celebration at Schuster Park.  Accompanied by his wife, Lois, Kieser received the Hixson Award for his nearly 40 years of ?meritorious service? from Case Van Kleef the immediate past president of Kiwanis International.
