From the arrival of Joshua Shilts in 1861 to the wild uninhabited area that later became Boyd to the present day, the Stanley Area Historical Society is featuring the Village of Boyd in its 2007 displays and programs.

To kick-off the 2007 season, Marcy Ruff will be doing a slide presentation titled “The Early History of Boyd” on Saturday, June 9th.  The 2:00 p.m. presentation will be held at the SAHA museum located at 228 Helgerson Street.

As Boyd’s premier historian, Marcy will take those in attendance through the early history of Boyd via slides and commentary.  Before and after the program museum visitors can visit the many displays of Boyd featuring photos, history and artifacts.  These include early settlers, early businesses, churches, schools and entertainment.

In addition to Boyd the 2007 displays feature the Township of Delmar, 1907 Stanley and 100 Years of Boy Scouts.

The Delmar displays include businesses, cheese factories, schools, farms and families.

The museum will be open from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays in June, July and August and from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sundays in September.

On Saturday, June 23rd, the SAHS will be hosting the Clark County Historical Society meeting starting with a 12:00 noon potluck lunch.  The public is invited to this meeting.
