School Event Raises $6,000 for THS Booster Club

Thorp High School students and families participated in Ford’s Drive One 4 UR School Program on September 18, raising $6,000 for the school’s Booster Club.  Event participants from the community came out to Thorp High School on September 18, 2009 to show their support for Thorp High School Booster Club by participating in the Drive One 4 UR School event sponsored by Courtesy Auto and Truck Center Inc. and Ford Motor Company.  Over 300 people raised $20 each for Thorp High School’s Booster Club by test-driving Ford and Mercury F-150’s, the new 2010 Taurus, Fusions and many other Ford vehicles.
 
Drive One 4 UR School, which launched in 2007, demonstrates Ford Motor Company’s commitment to supporting local communities in good times and in bad.  During the past two years, Ford Motor Company has provided more than $1.3 million to high schools that have participated in the program, with further plans to continue this fun, engaging way to help high schools raise money to support their sports and extracurricular activities.
 
“We loved being able to sponsor the Drive One 4 UR School event, and we’re so glad the community turned out to support Thorp High School,” said Curtiss Beilke, General Manager at Courtesy Auto and Truck Center Inc.  “We know the money will be put to good use, and we’re pleased with the responses we got to our vehicles – especially the F-150’s, the all new Fusion’s and Taurus.”
 
“Events like Drive One 4 UR School really show how much Courtesy Auto and Truck Center Inc. care about our community & students,” said Jim Montgomery, Thorp School District Administrator.  “We can’t thank Ford Motor Company and Courtesy Auto and Truck Center Inc. enough for sponsoring this event.”
 
Courtesy Auto has been a proud community member since 1984, and works hard in its efforts to support our community and its students.
