There were plenty of artists participating in the Rock Snake painting activity held during the Granton Fall Fest Sept. 6 – 8.

After the rocks were painted, they were displayed, snaking around the front of Citizens State Bank of Granton.

According to Jeanie Kuehn, there were 184 rocks painted this year. “We had all ages [of people) from little to adult,” Kuehn said. The Rock Snake painting event was Kuehn’s idea. She and her daughter, Tanya, sponsored the event.

“I’ve heard other towns were doing it,” said Kuehn “We’ll probably do it next year. It went over very well.”

Rocks of all sizes and shapes were colorfully painted. “Everyone supplied their own paints and rocks,” said Kuehn. She was the judge for the event. “There were a lot of good ones.”
