This image was taken from an 1897 Polish newspaper published in Chicago offering a free house and a cow to anyone who purchases at least 80 acres of land near Stanley, which at the time sold for $8 an acre. If you know more about this particular ad, let us know what you may recall. There were no calls or further information regarding last week’s photo of a communion ceremony inside St. Mary’s Church from 1959.
