Way Back When

 The Thorp Courier  --   June 25, 2008.

A collection of nurses’ stand behind a folding table spread with tablecloth and two lit candles. Know anything about the group? Where was it taken? Why are there candles on the table? Let us know if you know anything about this assemblage of nurses.

Last week’s photo of the ACE hardware store on Washington Street in the summer was identified as being owned by Robbie Fischer. Before it became a hardware store, the building was first Snyder’s Restaurant, and then Hewitt’s Dime Store. After becoming a hardware store, Bob Benzschawel had a tavern there, which was replaced by the Rail 2 Theater. Thank you to Jennie Clerf for calling in with this information.

For more information on this photo, check next week's column.
