Way Back When

Take me out to the ball game; take me out to the crowds!”  With baseball and softball season beginning, this week’s Way Back When photo pays homage to the All-American pastime.  Out on the mound, a man pulls back to get ready for the ceremonious first pitch of the game.  But there’s something fishy about this pitcher!  Dressed in a long-sleeve dress shirt and dark pants, this player seems to be slightly out of place.  A row of classic cars are lined up on the opposite side of the fence and an outfielder stands at the ready position over the pitcher’s right shoulder.  Do you know who the mystery pitcher is and why he is dressed differently?  Do you know what year this photo was taken?  Let us know by contacting The Thorp Courier.
