The day certainly had a sunny disposition when this fine group of children had their photograph taken. We can assume, of course, that they were all decked out in recognition of their First Communion or confirmation. However, when and where was the photograph taken and who are the children? The bottom front of this photo refers to “Alice;” who is Alice and where is she in the photograph? |

Recent Photo: Erika Mason of rural Stanley called in Monday morning to identify our three gentlemen friends in our “Way Back When” of March 15. The man dressed in the white shirt is her father, Eric Kapfer. The man in the middle is Bill Klovas, and the man on the right is Mike Klapatauskas, Sr. According to Erika, the photo was taken on March 19, 1948, at one of the Klovas’ daughter’s birthday parties. The three gentlemen were friends and neighbors all the time, all residing about 12 miles south of Thorp |
