Way Back When

 The Thorp Courier  --   April 26, 2006

What a handsome threesome of couples, all decked out for the prom. Flounces and fresh flowers galore for the girls, and crisply pressed suits and shining shoes for their beaus.

Who are these three couples, and to where did their destinies take them? When was this photograph taken, and was it before a Thorp High School prom or that of a neighboring school? Pictures like this always bring back many fond memories—what are a few of yours?

Last Week's Photo

Eileen Frenette called in to identify the photograph [last week] of the Thorp baseball team, which she says is circa 1930 and is of the farm team for the White Socks. Question marks indicate players Eileen was unable to identify: Back Row (L-R) ?, ?, ?, ?, John Herman, Chick Albert, Gus Velcheck, Red Smigaj, ?, Arnie Huls, and John S. Bogumill. Front Row: ?, ?, Leon Bogumill, Bill Vanderhyde, ?, Arnie Velcheck, and Ray Schmidt.
